Rob Laycock has joined the Ghosh Medical team in 2020 and is skilled in a wide variety of medical procedures for both face and body. As a highly respected consultant and plastic surgeon, he brings a wealth of experience to our Liverpool clinic.
Rob is qualified both in Medicine and Dentistry and after undergoing general surgery and ENT surgery, underwent higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Merseyside. He has also completed further specialist training in Aesthetic Facial Surgery after being awarded a fellowship in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Rob has held NHS Consultant posts at University Hospital Aintree, Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust and Bridgewater NHS Community Trust. He was appointed at both Aintree and Ormskirk Hospital in 2013 where he practiced the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and had a specialist interest in skin cancer, nasal reconstruction and post-traumatic facial deformity. He is also a core member of the Liverpool Skin Cancer multi-disciplinary team at Broadgreen Hospital which help advise, support and create individualised treatment plans for patients.
Rob is involved in passing on his knowledge and experience, holding a post-graduate qualification in teaching and education. He engages with with those involved in the Aesthetic MSc Module for the University of Liverpool Medical School. He is an examiner with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and has examined both within the UK and internationally.
Growing up in Yorkshire, Rob came to Liverpool in 1994 to commence his training and has remained in the Merseyside area ever since, where he lives with his wife and three children. His hobbies include scuba diving, squash, badminton, flying and spending time with his children. A qualified pilot since 2006, Rob has more recently taken to the fairways and greens, and no doubt some rough, as he attempts to improve his golfing handicap.
