Dr Banypersad joins the Ghosh Medical Group team with over 20 years of experience, having qualified in 1999.

Dr. Sanjay Banypersad is a Consultant Cardiologist and Lead for Cardiac Imaging at the East Lancashire NHS Trust since 2015.

He regularly assesses patients with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and blackouts in his clinics. Imaging of the heart is frequently crucial in establishing the diagnosis and Dr. Banypersad’s specialist area of expertise is in all aspects of cardiac imaging. He performs weekly sessions of cardiac MRI and cardiac CT scans, as well as all forms of echocardiography, including transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) in his routine clinical practice. Privately, the waiting time is generally only a few days.

Dr. Banypersad’s work has been recognised and honoured with several distinguished international awards, including from the American Heart Association (2013) and Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (2014) and he continues to be invited to give presentations and chair educational sessions at conferences. He has over 20 publications to his name in several peer-reviewed medical journals, with the 2nd highest ResearchGate score in the entire ELHT NHS Trust.

In spite of all this, Dr. Banypersad has never lost sight of the importance of communicating effectively to all my patients in order that they always leave the consultation with an understanding of their problems and the best way to manage them. For this reason, my independently-collated (myL2P) feedback from patients and staff alike was 4.97/5.
