Microneedling, sometimes referred to as dermal rolling, is a procedure that uses tiny steel needles or blades to make minute punctures in the skin. These tiny wounds are flooded with natural collagen and other beneficial agents, as the body works to heal them. The overall effect is tighter, firmer, younger-looking skin. Hydration of the skin is important in maintaining healthy skin tone, elasticity and a smooth youthful appearance. The component of our skin that aids in this hydration is Hyaluronic acid. Unfortunately during the ageing process this diminishes, which leaves our skin looking dull and wrinkled and the feeling of tightness and rough to touch. We can easily add hydration superficially with the application of creams which temporarily moisturise the surface of the skin, but they cannot penetrate deep enough into the skin to hydrate nor can they maintain the deep hydration which is needed to retain its natural elasticity and healthy glow.
What is Juvéderm® HYDRATE? Juvéderm® HYDRATE is used to replenish depleted levels of hyaluronic acid in your skin to restore a natural healthy glow. It is administered by injecting the HYDRATE just under the surface of the skin to improve hydration, tone and elasticity.
How Does It Work? Juvéderm® HYDRATE is not a filler or volumizer, but a treatment specifically designed to improve skin hydration and elasticity in the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
What is Hyperhidrosis? Sweating is necessary to control body temperature during times of exercise and in warm/hot surroundings, and is a normal response to a rise in temperature or anxiety. Sweating is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system. In about 1% of the population, this system is revved-up and works at a very high level, causing sweating to occur at inappropriate times, far in excess of the amount necessary to maintain normal body temperature. It can occur in many different areas of the body, and the condition is known as Hyperhidrosis, which means ‘excessive sweating’.
How Does The Treatment Work? Prescription medicine is injected into the problem area. It works at the neuromuscular junction by blocking the transmission of signals from the nerve ending to the targeted sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere. Your sweat doesn’t go anywhere or get backed up because the sweat simply is not produced in the areas treated. However, the rest of your body will produce moisture normally. The actual treatment takes about 10 to 15 minutes. A small amount of diluted solution is injected into the affected area through a very fine needle placed just under the skin in order to minimise discomfort and maximise accuracy.
What is Microsclerotherapy? Microsclerotherapy is a method used to treat thread / spider veins on the legs directly. Suitable for small to moderate size thread / spider veins.
How Does Microsclerotherapy Work? A very fine needle is used to inject a non-toxic chemical (sclerosant) directly into the vein. This irritates the lining of the vein causing the walls to stick together and prevent blood flowing through the vessel. Over a period of time the blood vessel is gradually absorbed by the body and disappears.
What Can Be Treated With Microsclerotherapy? Thread veins are small veins which have become visible through the skin. Approximately 40% of adults are troubled with varicose veins and thread veins so they are common and can be unsightly. They can cause aching, throbbing and tired legs, itch and ‘burning’ discomfort. In appearance they can vary from fine red marks to larger purple or deep blue veins. We understand that they can be caused through weight gain, heredity, pregnancy and hormonal factors or even caused by deeper varicose vein conditions.
What Results Can You Expect? A series of treatments are usually required to achieve a cosmetic result. After 3 or 4 treatments an 80-90% improvement can be expected.
Platelet-Rich Plasma – PRP Skin Rejuvenation
