Do you need any visas to enter your destination country?
For some countries applying for a visa can take months, it is always a good idea to
check with the countries embassy for up to date regulations.
Do you have adequate travel insurance? Do you need extra cover e.g. for hazardous
sports?
Some travel insurance companies will exclude high risk activities such as diving in
their policies. Before travelling think of what activities you are likely to participate in
and find a company able to cover your needs.
Do you have any pre-existing medical conditions?
After accidents cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes are the
highest cause of fatalities for travellers. Therefore, it is important you plan your trip
and ask your doctor for advice about your health especially if you have any chronic
illnesses.
Do you have, if needed, medication to cover your journey?
Are you aware that some prescribed drugs may not be available in some countries or
may not be licensed? The country’s embassy can advise you on which drugs and
quantities you can take with you. We can help you with any medication you may
